12 Years a Slave - Hanging
The Act of Killing - Anwar watches his film

Yes!

Disclaimer: I did not care for the rest of the film.

For me, the standout scene in Spring Breakers is the one shot from the getaway car.

I don't remember that one.

#1 is definitely Like Someone In Love taxi drive.

I have a hard time remembering scenes. I wish I could pick out scenes from Laurence Anyways or Frances Ha. Computer Chess has some great little vignette moments, too, that I just can't recall.

Some that I've liked:

The World's End - Final face-off with aliens
A Touch of Sin - Ending
Carrie - Hargensen's death; Vampire Weekend-set facsimile of De Palma prom preparation montage sequence
Oz the Great and Powerful - Wicked Witch terrorizes town square
The Lords of Salem - Full-blown Ken Russell climax
Larry Fessenden's Beneath - Moving the boat
Before Midnight - Lunch scene

Nah, don't worry, it's great. I did almost forget about it though since it's so early on in it and we see it so differently later on.

For those that don't remember, it's the long shot of the diner hold-up from Rachel Korine's point of view outside in the car. It is excellent.

Ohhh... I would've just thought that as the Diner Heist. Yes, probably the best scene in the movie.

I'm wanting it to show up on Netflix again for a rewatch.

I can probably pick a bunch from Spring Breakers alone. Aside from the two already mentioned, I'd add Franco and Hudgen's final conversation.

The diner robbery, the Everytime sequence, the "look at mah shit!" scene, the scene where Alien tries to convince Faith to stay ...

There's a reason it's my favorite of the year.

I was partial to the scenes with Rachel Korine acting the drunk ho. Also, the climax, though apparently it's divisive.

Oh yeah, "you can't have this pussy" is also worthy of distinction.

Just make something up. It'd still frustrate Duke.

As for scenes not mentioned yet, the gun-blowjob scene was pretty spectacular.

This thread basically urged me to re-watch it last night.

When Shane Carruth talks about Upstream Color being an exploration of his curiosity of being able to achieve something with narrative similar to that of music, where you can go back to something over and over and absorb things different ways, I feel like Korine did that exact thing. Just Spring Breakers is like an insane mixtape or one of those season/demographic specific compilation CD's brought to life.

It was like going back to a great album I only listened to once (just under a year ago), then going back to it all I could say to myself was, "Oh, whoa! I totally forgot about that [song/scene]!"

As for scenes not mentioned yet, the gun-blowjob scene was pretty spectacular.

This was the deep cut I forgot about most. That and the swagged-out "hip" preacher at the beginning.

The David Morse cameo in the snorkel scene was pretty cool.

Name 5 living actors better than and as tall as David Morse.

Trick question: you can't.

Watched an hour of The Green Mile the other night so I've got Morse on the mind.

Was Kyle Chandler anything special in Broken City? You could almost make a case for every scene of his this year.

One I haven't seen mentioned that brought me a ton of joy was the ship-to-ship jump in Star Trek Into Darkness.

Simon Pegg running across that hanger is easily the scene of that movie for me.
