I figure the difference between regular DVD and 70 MM is like a totally different type of movie.

Well, the blu-ray has stunning pq also. Good movie, great visuals, but not every segment was interesting, meanders from time to time. Most of the stuff with quinn in his tent for instance.

I'm out of town, otherwise I'd be there. Saw it in 35mm years ago which was great but 70 is a whole different ballgame. Fortunately, Lawrence, 2001, etc play in 70 at least once or twice a year in LA.

It's fetishized beyond reason (sorta like 2001) but the experience at 70MM is worth it. In other formats ... Maybe not so much.

Saw a 4K screening of the restoration last year on an oversized screen in a concert hall. Stunning experience.

Peter O'Toole died. They should rerelease this everywhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is sold out already.

Getting hammered with the likes of Richard Harris, Richard Burton, Oliver Reed and Michael Caine. Quite some company. Must have been legendary.

It just went through Cinemark's Classics series not long ago. I hope they run it again.
