You mean to tell me that the writer of Catcher in the Rye was an irredeemable asshole? SHOCKING.

This is a poorly made documentary that cannot decide between being a puff piece about how awesome J.D. Salinger is or a hit piece about an egomaniacal ephebophile and hypocrite. It never strikes a balance between the two and there is not even an ounce of nuance in the film's narrative bridging the two extremes.
