There's some greatness here, and it's when it's focused on what the movie wants to be about. However, it throws in a side story about the first set of people that climbed K2, and a few other informational things that are completely unnecessary. The movie takes on a Touching the Void concept with an even more horror emphasis, and it's fantastic. But sadly, it doesn't stay focused on it.

I thought it was one of the worst edited documentaries I'd ever seen. It jumbles the chronology for no reason, keeps inserting interview footage of that old Italian guy without any context or explanation, and then at the end decides to reconfigure itself into an investigatory mystery rather than framing the film that way from the beginning.

Precisely. It's like it was originally 60 minutes, and too long to be a short, so they threw in an additional 40 minutes of stuff. Had it remained with the investigation, I think there was something great.

Main thing I got from the film, that I don't think was intended by the filmmakers, is that attempting to climb K2 means you're a weird narcissistic idiot.
