Born out of Pop Trash's suggestion that Elias Koteas's appearance in a film typically signals a winner, what actor/actress do you immediately associate with quality? Or, read differently (if it generates a different reply from you), what actor/actress appears on the most films in your top _____?

I realize that we're only two to three posts from someone simply saying John Cazale, but I'm curious who else MC associates with quality...

Don't know why, but the first name that popped into my head was Robert Ryan. Probably my affinity for Nick Ray and the hardboiled dramas and westerns from the 50's. He was in so many great films from that era.

Classic: James Mason. I hang on his enunciation of every word. Still hoping Sam Neil plays him in a biopic someday...
