I am delighted to have this back for one more go. It's as good as ever.

Yup, the show still knows how to fuel Kenny's juvenile absurdity and pack a real quietly devastating punch in its purely visual moments and subtext. I was surprised at how fast they breezed past the funeral and other hanging threads from last season, to the point where I think there's more footage in the trailers than in the premiere.

But to completely concur, this is probably one of my all-time favourite shows anyway, so to get a bonus season out of it that'll concretely end it even more is a spectacular thing. Also, this season's poster:

This show is remarkable in its ability to literally have too many choice lines to quote.

Just when I thought I'd be content with the whole season if it stayed at the quality level of the premiere, this second episode had to go and remind me just the sorts of highs this series can hit when it absolutely doesn't hold back.

As excellent and hysterical as any half hour of television I've seen this year.

This may be the best season yet. It certainly seems to have a bigger focus point then the other seasons do.

Great stuff whenever it's dealing with the talk show and neighborhood rivalry.

Absolutely. When it first announced and even when it premiered, I really viewed this as a nice unexpected gift of a bonus season after it had already wrapped itself up quite nicely.

Now I really think they're putting together a better final season than their previous one, and maybe one of the finer seasons of any comedies in recent years.

Yeah I'm usually a harsh critic of this show but this season is delivering. Thanks in no small part to Ken Marino one of the greatest comic actors of our generation.

Hear, hear. I don't even much care for Ty Segall, but that closing song was magnificent.

Just can't say enough good things about this show.

Watched the new episode on the train, which is something I never really do, but if it wasn't hard enough to stop myself from breaking into embarrassing fits of laughter, not being able to have the huge reaction to that ending I wanted to really did its job of keeping my awe strongly contained inside for a good while.

I have no idea how this show pulls off what it does.

Certainly the most disturbing Christmas episode I will undoubtedly want to re-watch this and all foreseeable holiday seasons.

Not sure how I'm going to deal with this show being over next week. The similarities between this and Breaking Bad's move towards its own ending only become more fittingly close with every new episode of Eastbound, obviously while going about them with such opposing tones and central figures. From the "I win" moments after defeating their nemesises, to the frozen isolation of both before pushing themselves to reclaim some redemption with those they love, all the way to each protagonist being content watching their families new form of happiness from afar. I could force more comparisons, but the main one should be that both shows came to a close pretty incredibly right after one another.

Strange that Lindsay Lohan was involved at all. Not even one line. Is that a testament to how bad she is now?

But even better... Sacha Baron Cohen. What an opening too. Would be curious what they'd do with him if they had more episodes.

Spectacular way to go out. As weird, abrasive and oddly heartwarming as the very best of any television, all rolled into one beautiful package.

I've seen a lot of people have say this episode felt a bit toned down compared to the rest of the series. Only Eastbound & Down could ever get that reaction for an episode with an opening scene of Sacha Baron Cohen using his erect penis as a solid surface to write on to pick up a flight attendant while a dead-eyed, silent child assistant observes.

I'd say I'm going to miss this show way too much, but I might just re-watch it forever.
