I give you an actor.

You tell me which movie contains their best performance. You get one vote.

Discussion might happen.

After a day or so, the votes are counted. I announce the winning performance.

We then move on to somebody else.

Previous decisions:
Robert De Niro - Raging Bull
Kate Winslet - Heavenly Creatures
Toshiro Mifune - Throne of Blood
Meryl Streep - Adaptation
Michael Keaton - Beetlejuice
Penelope Cruz - Volver
Charlie Chaplin - The Gold Rush
Julianne Moore - Safe
Forest Whitaker - Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai

I unfortunately haven't seen Autumn Sonata. I'd have to go with Notorious.

Want to go with Hitch's film since I love it so much, but she's amazing in Autumn Sonata, so gotta go with that one.

Notorious. Although she is the best part of Under Capricorn which I just watched where she plays against the usual characters I've seen her in

7 Oscar nominations. Wow!

And one of them was not for her best role, which is Notorious.

I've seen Autumn Sonata. It is good, but her work with Notorious is so much more watchable to me.

I'd forgotten about Gaslight. I want to change my vote to that one.

Notorious.

Pleased people are choosing Gaslight though, probably my second choice. I don't think it's a great film necessarily, but in retrospect it was a sexually formative film for me. I don't know why, but it was always so exciting for me as a teenager. Makes more sense now, but ya.

Also, makes me feel sad I haven't seen more Rosselini.

Autumn Sonata. Not sure if it's a great film, but it is a great performance. Women sniping their family usually leads to good roles.

I thought she overacted in Gaslight and that the actress in the original English version did better - so I'll go with Notorious. I don't remember anything about Autumn Sonata.
