A scene in a church that recalls both Dark Skies and especially The Lords of Salem is one of the few kinda-sorta highlights here, while an appreciable emphasis on the psychological trauma of a victim from the previous film as she attempts to reintegrate with society recalls the empathy of Zombie's Halloween 2, but this unremittingly ponderous sequel to one of the best found-footage horror films otherwise proves lacking in most respects, inundated with an endless parade of ludicrous scare attempts before settling on a conclusion that is both hurried and unearned.
