3. The Possession (Bornedal)

5. Ted (MacFarlane)

And watch some worse movies, people! I mean... you get what I'm saying. If anything, the consensus is going to look more like a "Movies We Had Higher Hopes For" list than a truly terrible bottom five. Even my five are slightly modified towards thing I expect anyone else has actually saw.

However, the average Match-Cutter is far more likely to suffer through Cosmopolis than Piranha 3DD or Taken 2.

But the latter two are still indisputably terrible movies I checked out exactly the same I did the films I adored, regardless of prior expectations. They deserve spots on a bottom five a million times more than something like Chronicle. Hell, I even think John Carter works a lot better than I think most give it credit for, if not without its clunky portions.

And regarding Prometheus, I don't know how I'd go about defending it, but I still really enjoy it and have watched it multiple times now. I'll never understand why the biggest (seemingly only) complaint about it is that the characters don't act relatably or believably when to me film's entire conflict stems from Fassbender's android's drive to break down, reverse engineer, and pit his human crew members against each other because, despite being their creation, he lacks the same sort of empathy, emotional understanding (or in Rapace's character's case, faith) they do, and is motivated by the same sort of curiosity and lack of caution the similarly all-intelligent Engineers themselves exhibited when they created the humans (which in turn, lead to their own near-extinction). It's all cyclical, prying at exactly which aspects of one's nature are lost when they try to replicate or better ourselves through technology and unnatural biology.

The sort of "whoopies, shouldn't'a touched that alien snake!"-laziness begins and ends with that scene for me.

This. I have a hard time finding time (and sometimes money, though mostly what I watch now is netflix/showtime) to watch anything. When I have the time, or make the time, I will watch something that received good reviews or a major blockbuster that everyone talks about (good and bad), just so I can be a part of the conversation. It's been quite some time since I've just grabbed and watched 3 or 4 movies a week, without much regard to what it was.

Generally my bad movies these days are what my wife or 4 year old pick that I watch with them.

Putting Prometheus and Cosmopolis in the same ballpark is madness. The latter is brilliant, the former is passable entertainment.Just to be clear, I wasn't putting them in the same ballpark (although Cronenberg and Scott both became famous around the same time for making science fiction and horror movies). My point is that, for the people who don't like them, it makes more sense to put these films on a worst-of list than a Piranha or a Taken because they're films by respected auteurs that Match-Cutters are likely to go out of their way to see, and it gives the films' admirers a chance to stick up for them.

Right. But just the notion of something as excellent as Cosmopolis being given that label is annoying to say the least.

I already made all the images, but if E wants to accept them and the results change, I could make adjustments.
