Watched this last year in the context of taking a full year paper on Holocaust film, and thought it was fairly compelling. Haven't seen any other films that look at Holocaust realisation from the perspective of the indoctrinated youth. Thought the coming of age / Holocaust parallel worked quite well. Final act sees the rejection of her childhood, while simultaneously seeing a rejection of the possibility of a return to a pre-Nazi status quo.

Starship Troopers.

There's no moment of awakening in that film for any of the characters in that film from memory, and the weird Holocaust stuff is only really there for Neil Patrick Harris' character but good pull.

Sentence should have read 'post-war Holocaust realization'.

I thought quite highly of this for the most part, but the usage of the score really needed to be toned down. Fine and nice in most places, but quite overbearing in certain scenes.
