No Antichrist? Or would you guys consider that more of an Easter horror movie?

No Antichrist? Or would you guys consider that more of an Easter horror movie?Well the majority of the movie took place in the spring or summer, so no.
I've only seen Black Christmas off of that list. I want to view Silent Night, Deadly Night at some point. TCM has shown Christmas Evil in the past, but I didn't think it was that big of a priority.

Inside. Right? Or is it more of a Christmas Eve movie?

I've wanted to check out Rare Exports for a while. Looks hilariously evil.

I watched the Black Christmas remake last night and was downright shocked how much I enjoyed it.

Lack of Gremlins makes this list inaccurate

While it's not a full-length feature, one of the very first episodes of the HBO "Tales From the Crypt" show was a delightful Christmas horror romp.
Larry Drake plays an escaped lunatic dressed in a Santa suit. I think it was called "And All Through The House".
I also had some fun with (the admittedly terrible, but again, fun) Santa's Slay starring Goldberg as Santa.

Prepare for disappointment. Moves along at a decent clip for much of its runtime, but then in the last 20 - 30 minutes it throws in a stupid twist and erupts into a bombastic, cartoony mess.

Can you elaborate (in spoilers, of course) on the stupid twist and cartoonishness?
I honestly don't care about spoilers with this one, it's not exactly high up on my watch list (which is why I haven't gotten to it yet). I thought the trailers made it look pretty clever, though.

I guess this is as good a place as any to put this. Made it over the past couple days. Happy Holidays to the whole sorry mess of you!

I watched two new Christmas horror movies this holiday season.
The first was Sint (AKA Saint & Saint Nick), a very solid Carpenter shrine directed by Dick Maas, who some of you may recall from that movie about the killer elevator featuring a pre-stardom Naomi Watts performance. If not essential, it confirms Maas as a worthy genre talent who I hope to see release new work with more consistency.
The second was a kinda-sorta remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night, its title now reduced simply to Silent Night. This one is a shrine to '80s slashers, albeit made with far more technical polish; heck, it looks better than many wider release horror movies. The performances by Jaime King and Malcolm McDowell (in the fourth role I've seen him in this year!) are surprisingly fine as well. On the other hand, while the script has its moments, it's off-puttingly dumb and mean-spirited as a whole, and begins to cheat towards the end in ways that really tested my patience.

I recommend any of the shorts produced for BBC's A Ghost Story for Christmas, especially Warning to the Curious and The Signalman, adaptations of MR James and Charles Dickens' short stories. Both on youtube by the way. Not Christmas in theme, but stories that were read out loud in front of a hearth for Christmas entertainment in years gone by in England. The BBC was tapping into that tradition when it had a run of several years of these adaptations in the '70s.

The old man turns out to be an elf, and there's an entire army of them. Santa is actually a giant monster frozen in ice.
