Didn't know this was a 2012 movie otherwise I would have created a thread a long time ago. Liked this.

Slight but fun. Although the nature of the hole in the title never goes beyond the figurative, the flick has an earnest spirit, Dante re-affirms his ability to get strong child and young adult performances, and the final quarter of the flick is appreciably surreal. Apart from one misconceived moment involving exposed brain matter, this would make a safe viewing for families.

This is a great scary flick for kids. With some really great values.

An ingenious "horror" story for a purpose of imparting something to kids, deconstructing fear resolutely while simultaneously being a pretty joyous, pretty commendable scary movie. The scares take a little while to get going, but it was definitely on an upward incline.

Dante's imprint shines in an artistically go-for-broke finale, and he remains strong with characters and emotional scenario.

I really wish there are more filmmakers like Dante who make genuinely creepy horror films aimed at kids.

You know, this would be a great kids double feature with ParaNorman.
