Great location, uninspired everything else, with a lamely nonsensical ending tacked on that induces a particularly sour aftertaste. That said, I admire the cunning demonstrated by the filmmakers in opening the film with a few minutes of found footage before smoothly transitioning (via pull back from a close-up of an iPad) into a conventionally shot movie that just so happens to look as though it's being recorded by a nonexistent character, thus hypothetically excusing any lack of artistry, polish, or what have you in the cinematography. Clever ploy, budget-minded filmmakers.

Probably the best year in cinema since 1954

I meant to vote NAY and not YAY. This started off good, but the "monsters" were inconsistent with what we were supposed to believe. IN the end, it was the Hills Have Eyes in Ukraine. That does not explain the leg injury. It does not explain the little girl appearing and vanishing and it doesn't explain how quickly they move. But whatever.
