What an implausible plotline! They're really going out on a limb with this one.

I love how they don't allow one line of dialogue. I can just imagine the editors trying to piece something together, witnessing the acting, and saying, "Maybe we just go with music and random images on this one."

And if you're his first love, do you really want him contacting you again with that look on his face?

I don't really know why the synopsis had to mention that he's Christian.

He's a Christian filmmaker, both he and his brother Rich are. They make Christian niche films, like the utterly fucktacular Time Changer, a ridiculously popular so-bad-it's-entertaining-but-nowhere-near-good film in my small circle of friends. One of my friends, however, has seen everything they've done and finds them all hyeeeeelarrrious.

They often try to sell their films as secular on the surface, but pretty quickly reveal themselves to be over-the-top Christian, or so they say. I know many people were frustrated with Time Changer when the promise of some crazy sci-fi adventure turned into a bizarre instruction on how being a good person doesn't mean shit if you're not doing it 'cause Jesus said to.

What's with the totally arbitrary use of red words?

I predict that three-fourths of the cover/poster blurbs will have some variation of the phrase "a heartwarming family film."

So it is real, then. Others I showed it to guffawed at how fake the whole thing appears. I would rent this on a laugh-at-bad-movie kinda night, actually. The information that the trailer distills tells me that it'll fall in behind Repo: The Genetic Opera and The Hottie and the Nottie, but I think that's because it's missing the Hilton factor.

Oh My... that trailer was hilarious.

It reminded me of a Christian tape a friend found once at a bargain bin. Can't remember the name unfortunately, but it was a series of short stories, amateurish directed and acted, full of in-your-face moralistic messages and awful musical numbers that always had us rolling on the floor laughing. Not even booze was necessary, just watching the tape was a total riot (although drinking kind of maximized the effect).
