i'm going to go with the apprentice defeats the mentor angle and say Eli's quickness defeats the slow moving Count.

Eli never held back and was super quick. She also was smart enough to stay hidden for most of the time. Either she kills the Count, or just sits back and watches as the vampire hunters take him out.
