Johnny Depp playing Kolchak is one of the most blasphemous things I read all day.

The Night Stalker was a cult show, and not really a huge success. I fail to see the audience for this.

The audience is Wright and Depp fans.

The audience is Wright and Depp fans.Has Wright had a hit movie, or at least one in quite a while? And once the chicks who love Depp find out what the movie is actually about, they'll pass. Its a limited audience imo.

Wouldn't expect Wright to do something like this, but in my book he's earned the wright (har har) to do whatever the hell he wants. A bit of a warm-up for Ant-Man, perhaps?

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Why?

I'm not defending this casting choice which is stupid, by the way.

You and the 32 other people that saw it all really liked it.

It made 32 million dollars at the box office so unless the tickets were a million dollars each you guys are going a little overboard on the number of people who saw it.

Its production budget alone was twice that and they marketed the shit out of it, so yes, 32 million gross is still considered bombing spectacularly.

Saying it bombed is alot different then saying only 32 people saw it.

I could be wrong here, but I'm fairly sure Ezee E was using a literary device known as hyperbole.

Usually hyperbole is based at least somewhat in fact. His statement wasn't.

No it isn't. Otherwise it would just be an exaggeration.

You're not serious here, are you? Fact is a low number of people went to see it, hence it bombing, and 32 is a low number. Hence hypoerbole. Hell, he was being generous. I would have said like 15 people to make the same point.

More people have seen Scott pilgrim then have seen The Artist. If I made a post saying only 32 people had seen it that would sound ridiculous.

It doesn't really matter how much it made. It did what it meant to do: gather a cult following. There are theaters that have special midnight showings of Scott Pilgrim and it sells out every time. This film doesn't need to be go out and find a new audience. It already had one.

I loved Scott Pilgrim. I just think this is a really weird project for Wright to be doing, and anyone who knows about Kojak the Night Stalker knows that Depp is wrong for this movie.
