The Host

Advantages: very large and fast
Weaknesses: molotov cocktails, bow and arrow and metal poles

The Birds

Advantages: can break phonebooth glass and intimidate in numbers
Weaknesses: fires in fireplaces

Yeah, no contest here. Even though there are seemingly thousands of birds who could attack and dash in droves, The Host would go down into his subterranean hang out, lick his wounds, and come back to the surface to take out a hundred at a time until they were all dead.

I voted for The Birds to win by TKO by its more forcefully enigmatic metaphor. The birds just keep coming.
Still, I'd take the British working class to defeat them both:

KF brings up a good point with the attack and retreat formula, but I feel like the sheer number of birds on the planet would eventually wear down the Host creature. We're talking about billions of birds here. Birds win.

But it wasn't all the birds on the planet in The Birds, just those in that particular community. Otherwise I'd agree.
