Wait, this didn't get a release in 2011? I suppose I saw it at a preview screening.
Damn, that means I can't put Daniel Henshall on my Best Actor ballot for 2011. I hope I remember next year.

Only festivals and previews. I think it's getting (or has gotten) its official US release in January.

Looks like this got it's name changed to The Snowtown Murders.

Mesmerizing and haunting, especially the opening shot and voiceover. The elliptical narrative might have pushed too far toward confusing, but it was a great aid to the cinematography and score in creating that atmosphere. I also liked the character dynamic: affectless youth against charismatic sociopath. It made the youth falling under the sway of the sociopath seem believable, but it also just had a nicely aesthetic structure to it, the one character so inward and expressionless, the other always (seemingly at least) outward and smiling. And Daniel Henshall gave one of the all-time great psychopath performances.
