My brief reaction from TIFF '10:

Having not seen I Come With the Rain, I'm still high on Tran Anh Hung. Norwegian Wood is a perfect continuation of the sensibilities evident in The Vertical Ray of the Sun, its warmth and understanding, its gentle observation of the mundane. I have not read any Murakami, I had no idea what to expect here, but the film's sincere and empathetic exploration of the inner space of its characters, and their interpersonal relationships, left me in emotional shambles. Mark Lee continues his reign as the contemporary world's supreme cinematographer.

I also met Tran Anh Hung after the screening and got his autograph, which I think makes me an arthouse fanboy and my opinions should be taken with a grain of salt.

This is available for streaming on Netflix, btw. Nobody else has seen it?

It's one of my favorites of the year.

You'd all probably hate it.
