Here's an excerpt from my blog:

Well, yesterday was my birthday, and it was a pretty good day, once I got through all the work bullshit. I had an hour and a half tele-conference with the Italians, and then another half hour conference call with them. Not much fun.... During the teleconference, I saw the front desk trying to contact me. After the teleconference, I checked my voice mail, and there was a 'delivery' up front for me. I check up front, and there's twenty five roses sitting there from Jess. Let the ball busting begin! I got plenty of shit from the boys, but the women thought they were beautiful and the biggest goddamned roses they'd ever seen, (and I agree!)
After a lot of work, and ball busting, I left for the day. I went to the truck, and found a six pack of Zywiec sitting in there waiting for me. Yum yum! I got home, got cleaned up, and then we went to J.J.'s Fish and Chicken, (that'll probably piss of Janel). We had fried catfish, fried oysters, and fried Mac 'n' cheese bites. It was great. Then we walked down the street to The Love Doctor and looked around for awhile. Then we headed home....

It was a really good day. Probably ate too much, but all in all, it was a great day!

The other day, Jess was hitting me up for gift ideas for Scar. Me, being that 1) I'm a foodie 2) it's cold out, 3) Scar's an enthusiastic carnivore and 4) braised short ribs are just below smoked spare-ribs on the ladder of red-meat awesomeness - and probably the best cold weather comfort food around - suggested a dutch oven for a birthday present.

Not a second after the words left my mouth did I realize that it was probably about the most unexciting birthday present idea ever. Jess rather snarkily replied "nuthin' says lovin' like a dutch oven."

Nuthin says lovin' like a dutch oven indeed.
