I still haven't seen the theatrical cut of Zodiac (or Seven or The Game). Now I don't know what to do.

The original cut has been on DVD for some time, so it's not like its a brand new release.

Adam's Apples (Adams Æbler) is great! It's one of my favorite films of 2005. Equally funny and tragic. Really something special.

Klimt? Oh hell yeah... I thought that one had fallen through the distribution cracks...

Ed Gonzalez convinced my to see The Golden Door.

Guys.

Rent and watch Joshua, then go and see Juno. Or vice versa. Not sure which order would work better, though. I swear, that's thematic bliss for me. If Juno was about Bateman and Garner and was a horror movie, it would sorta kinda loosely be maybe Joshua... thematically.

But be aware, Joshua will frustrate and baffle many. It almost didn't work for me even.

I recommend The Riches.

And encourage people to dismiss Adam's Apples and Klimt. The latter is especially awful.

Is it an actual reproduction of the envelopes the real Zodiac Killer used, or is it from the movie?

3:10 to Yuma, Sunshine, and Zodiac.

I find it amusing that the American cover art for Dark Blue, Almost Black uses the labeling to cover up their nakedness.

Not much interest in an Araki stoner flick, I see.

Adam and Eve would have used it instead of fig leaves if it were around back then.

Not much interest in an Araki stoner flick, I see.I think I'm gonna hold off and watch Mysterious Skin before checking out something like this that holds very, very little immediate appeal for me.

And encourage people to dismiss... Klimt. The latter is especially awful. Raul Ruiz has made two of the greatest films I've ever seen. I'm willing to give even a potentially minor entry to his sprawling filmography a look.

Klimt isn't your usual cookie-cutter biopic, it's something more extravagant. While it may not be the most appropriate first experience for those interested in Ruiz (definitely not among his greatest achievements), but it's a charming accomplishment nonetheless.

I doubt if watching Mysterious Skin will change that, as they are very, very different movies. I loved MS, but have no desire whatsoever to see SF.

Renting:
3:10 to Yuma
Sunshine
Eagle vs. Shark
Joshua

Would like to buy that Zodiac disc at some point.

Yeah, I'm expecting something more Edvard Munch than Ray.

What would you say are Ruiz's great acheivements?

Very wise decision. Mysterious Skin is fantastic, while this was one of the most singularly unpleasant films I saw all year.

I would say:

Three Crowns of a Sailor
Hypothesis of the Stolen Painting
Time Regained
Genealogy of Crime
Comedy of Innocence

Although there are still a lot of films of his that I need to see.

I need to get to the others, as I know there are few more out there with R1 DVD releases.

Love the cover for Zodiac. Looks like something Criterion would have done if they were releasing it.

I'll get that one and maybe 3:10 to Yuma. I had such a bad theater experience trying to see that one (the power kept cutting out) that it almost ruined the film and I want to see it again.

Fincher has consistently had inventive, awesome covers for his special edition DVDs. Fight Club is a nice companion piece to Zodiac as far as the covers are concerned. They're both packages!
