There are so many strange and terrifying aspects to that .. but hands down the oddest is the shot of Al Pacino wearing a fake beard at a Lakers game.

I admittedly feel like an idiot for laughing at the bit with the jet ski in the pool.

That was more awful than I could have imagined. And I don't even hate Adam Sandler.

For the first 20 seconds, it was annoying.

Then the "sister" was revealed.

For the next minute, it was literally the worst trailer I had ever seen.

Then Al Pacino turned up.

I think my love of cinema just died.

He's tried to play better roles (Punch Drunk Love & Funny People) and no one goes to see them. He knows exactly what his audience wants.

Not that I should be saying this because I was a victim of it to Transformers, but the pedigree of who's involved, the history of these type of films tells me that I can call this film "shit" and move on without being curious if I was wrong.

(a) Have you guys seen the movie? No
(b) No. Stop reading my mind!
(c) Stop judging something before it even comes out. But we all have our opinions on Tom Cruise already, its just human nature.
(d) Are you serious? Only about giraffes. Bloody giraffes.
(e) Just because it looks bad to you doesn't mean it's a bad movie. True, but historically, the bad trailer/bad movie connection has been a reliable source of conclusion-jumping and internet-whining for decades, and to take that away from us is to deny us our humanity. And to deny dukefrukem the chance to procrastinate away his worries with threads dedicated to the assumption that the trailer provides some clues to what lies ahead on our cinematic journey towards death.

Adjusted for inflation, he's at about half of where he was back when The Longest Yard came out (it made nearly $60 million adjusted). Most of his films make it to $100 million and do well overseas...and of course do well on home video. I think we're still stuck with him for a while.

What's interesting about Sandler is that I love his SNL material, I'm a fan of Billy Madison, Happy Gillmore, and Anger Management. I even found Grownups to be a bit amusing. But its when he does movies like this one, Mr. Deeds, the one where he adopts the kid, etc....it just makes me shake my head. I hear that PDL was good, but he'll never make that kind of movie ever again because it didn't have a great box office.

Oh it's horrendous. I can't believe it exists in any form. The only amusing thing about it is that the scene somehow ends with Pacino's "character" echoing those same sentiments. When Sandler was on Conan he said that Pacino was actually saying things like that on set the entire time they were filming. Things like "Oh no, we're not releasing this", "Don't worry, no one's ever going to see this" and so on.

There's also the scene where Sandler (in drag as Jill) literally destroys his Oscar.
