This was a movie meant to watch while drinking and with friends so you could laugh at how bad it is.

Haha, apparently Ellis hates the title and tried to get them to have it be titled "Untitled 3D Shark Thriller." The studio would not let him.

I'm usually not one to say that all horror movies should be R, but this one getting a PG-13 is a huge red flag. Well that and the fact that the trailer made me laugh my ass off.

Yeah, I saw a TV spot for it, and that was also my reaction. At least with an R-rating, they can tease the idea of a crazy Piranha 3D-style gorefest, while pushing the fact that they have the likes of Katharine McPhee and Sara Paxton in it, with a trailer that already has shots of at least one of them disrobing away from the camera. But now, I don't even know what this movie can offer. Even Ellis' Snakes on a Plane had the good sense of being rated R.

Piranha 3D was hilarious and entertaining, and Snakes On a Plane was good campy fun. Shark Night doesn't look like it will be any of these things. Save for awful.

Now Shark Knight....that would be a movie.

SHARK NIGHT 3D is a brilliant movie. I’m not being ironic and I’m not trolling you when I say that. SHARK NIGHT 3D is next level stuff; the most sentient horror movie since SCREAM. This is the STARSHIP TROOPERS of killer shark movies– and if you know me, you know I do not mess around when it comes to comparing things to STARSHIP TROOPERS.

Wow.

I will admit that I would be far more likely to see this if it were called THE SHARK KNIGHT 3D.

That's frighteningly high. Be careful. It feels like the kind of review that kickstarted the hype for Snakes on a Plane.

I just can't be bothered to get all excited about a movie when, among its greatest of achievements, it has a chick who keeps her bra on. Unbelievable!

But yeah, okay, the guy seems to make some decent points.

I made two attempts at watching this. Both failed. Absolutely awful in every respect.

My initial impressions thought it would be like Piranha 3D.

Me too. I was genuinely looking forward to it. I love me some fun bad movies, this was just bad.

What, like JAWS?

What, like JAWS?

You know, after I posted that, I immediately thought of Jaws, but the trailer leads you to believe you see all kinds of different types of sharks, which you do, for only fractions of seconds. There are very little money scenes which would make this worth watching. With Jaws, it's more about the drama.
