I live in Cedar Rapids, and we just had a movie made with Ed Helms coming here and getting into wacky hijicks. So I guess a statue of him, I suppose? As for the state, well a statue of Kevin Costner for Field of Dreams, of course.

As a resident of Detroit, I think this is awesome. After I read this I found out they're taking donations to fund the statue, and they now actually have more than is needed to pull it off.

And, while Robocop is the cooler statue, Axel Foley may be a bit more appropriate, seeing as how that film was actually filmed in Detroit and he wore a Mumford shirt throughout the movie.

Unfortunately, the movie wasn't even shot in Cedar Rapids.Heh, I know. That was due to the state's film commission being investigated and shut down because of fraud. I heard some shots from the city make it into the movie. It wouldn't be hard for them to fake the US Cellular Center, or the fucking stupid metal tree in the middle of downtown, which unfortunately the flood did not carry away in 2008.
