It's live online right now and should start in store tomorrow. And it includes blu-rays and the box sets.

I don't have a ton of money to spend but I'll for sure be picking up the Paths of Glory and Charade blu-rays. Maybe others.

Apparently coupons don't work. Or at least the old ones.

I ordered already.

The Red Shoes blu, Darjeeling blu, Summer Hours blu, An Autumn Afternoon, Sansho, Ali: FETS.

Thin Red Line will be mine. Nothing else comes to mind right now. Maybe Hausu if I'm feeling up to it.

They had a link a few days ago to get a free two month Barnes and Noble membership so I signed up for that. It'll save me another $2 off each blu.

Why is the von Sternberg collection only reduced from $80 to $70? That's the one I wanted most. Lame.

Ordered the Allan King set and Night of the Hunter.

Oh my... There's a 25 disc Kurosawa box set going for $200, normally $400.

I ordered the Allan King set as well. Been wanting it like mad, but just couldn't justify the expense, until now.

Well for me one of the main reasons to buy Criterion is for the bonus stuff and until they have that stuff on netflix streaming I'll buy them.

Bought Charade and Paths of Glory and the B&N membership covered the tax and a little more so I ended up paying $39.

I'm thinking about the Sanjuro/Yojimbo set which will end up being around $31.

Forgot Night of the Hunter. Need that one too.

It may finally be time to buy Vampyr.

I picked that one up the last time they did this sale. Still haven't gotten around to watching it yet though.

And netflix doesn't even carry the Charade or Paths of Glory blu-rays.

Picked up the Seven Samurai bluray today. Used my membership and a $5 off coupon and it went from $49.99 down to $17.50. Not bad.

No Thin Red Line or Night of the Hunter at the B&N I stopped at today. At least in blu ray. I'll have to try the other one tomorrow.

Yeah, Antichrist comes out this tuesday and NOTH the tuesday after. The sale will still be going on for both though. I've been reading on the dvdtalk forum that a lot of people are having trouble finding The Thin Red Line in stock and talking to B&N employees it looks like it was underprinted. I've got 6 or 7 B&N locations on my work route and I've seen it at most of them.

I only see about one copy of any new Criterion at my local B&Ns. Saw only one copy of TTRN at the location I visited before the sale.

Blind bought the Repulsion blu for $13 today.

And in the last two days after first watching the films I watched/listened to the audio commentaries on Charade and Paths of Glory. Both great listens in completely different ways. The Charade one has the director and screenwriter together making sarcastic comments to each other and telling stories where the Paths of Glory one is with a film critic Gary Giddins and he goes far more into detail of the movie, cast, and it's more of a history lesson of the film.

I took the plunge and blind bought House on blu ray and Mishima on standard.

I'll go back tomorrow. I saw a blu ray of Kagemusha last week. I hope it's still there.

Sxottlan
11-14-2010, 04:13 AM
Okay, picked up Kagemusha and The Seven Samurai on blu ray.

I think I'm done since The Thin Red Line is on back order everywhere and won't be in until after the half off sale is over.

Got me The Phantom Carriage, Island of Lost Souls and 3 Women (Blu).

Might only be able to afford one, maybe two if lucky. I have yet to resist the sale, though. The best was a summer a year ago where I actually had enough money to purchase six Criterions, at least. Anyone know how long it lasts this time?

For anyone who was unaware The Killing is actually a two movie set since it also contains a remastered Killers Kiss.

To be honest not that great of a sale on most things. After tax I only ended up saving around $3 each compared to what I would have paid on amazon.

I was only able to get Kuroneko on blu-ray today. They didn't have any of the others in that format. I'll have to try a second store nearby, maybe tomorrow.
