I was hoping for trailer guy's land of imagination to be Imaginationland, but alas.

Not only does it look terrible but the trailer makers seem to have mined the soundtracks from every sci-fi and fantasy film from the last 30 years.

This is K_Fan's Bratz of 2008.

Wait, what?

"And her biggest fan is a Mexican gangster who lives in a small village and drives a 4x4 called Little Mule..."

I think it was Colombian, but yeah. First thing I thought of.

Yeah, it's been a while.

Although, I must say he might have improved this particular picture.

I hate how everything on earth is using that song from "Brazil" now. Did Michael Kamen even give them permission to do this?

perhaps, but it's definitely lovejuice's Bratz. i really don't have that high opinion based on the trailer, but i love the concept, foster, and butler, so if the review is moderately decent, i'm there.

watched a different trailer before HORTON. obviously the audiences for that trailer are very specific demography, and it's rather amusing how it is recut to appear like a totally different movie ala forbidden kingdom. butler's character is non-existing. the little miss sunshine takes the center stage, and we don't know who the heck foster is.

Yeah, it's amazing, the difference between the trailers I've seen online and the one I saw in front of Horton. Frankly, I find the kid-targeted one more interesting, if just because it seems lighter on screenwriting clichés and overall looks less blah. Both make the film look retarded, though.

So Jodie Foster's carrer is over? Or is she doing this for her kids or something?

Jodie Foster's gots to get paid. And, y'know, every Hollywood star does their occasional dip into high-budget, family popcorn flicks.

It's funny how we'll happily forgive Foster's "integrity" over something like this, but if a director of any "substance" were to turn in a project like this, they'd be widely decried as a sell-out.

Or maybe Foster was just won over by the presence of a pirate. When I saw the trailer with the pirate, I had this sick urge to go see the movie. It has a pirate.

Jodie Foster had integrity?

Or is Silence of the Lambs that good that people actually think she's been doing amazing stuff her entire career? 'Cause, y'know, she hasn't.

I believe that song existed long before the Gilliam film was made:

Also, Michael Kamen couldn't grant permission; he's been dead since 2003.

Yep, this looks terrible. It's about what's expected in wide release in April.

Chrisnu - the song that I was referring to was Central Services/The Office (specifically the "office" section) from the Brazil soundtrack, not the song Brazil itself.
