There isn't. there's the one that's 20+ minutes long, then the other parts are the same thing divided up into 7+ minute long stretches.

I think it's kind of funny, but I have to admit, there's only so many times I can here someone go "fuck!" while Mario dies. Still, there's some good zingers:

"This is worse than The Da Vinci code, both the novel by Dan Brown and the movie. FUCK!"

I kinda agree with iosos. I almost never watch the whole thing all the way through, but rather just start somewhere and watch it for a few minutes. That said, showing any part of the clips at a large gathering of people in their mid-20 always successfully registers many a laugh, since we've all had the hidden coin block experience...

That song was written by Jon Coulton, with whom my lovely wife has played many a concert on the ukulele. Evidence (song starts at about 1:55, though if you listen to it before, you get to hear Coulton call me a sonuvabitch and threaten to kill me):

http://youtube.com/watch?v=M9vS8g7hx6k

There's more with both of them on youtube. In fact, for the last concert with both of them, which was the 14th of October, he suggested that they play this song from Portal, but it was not to be. However, in the process, I learned how to play this song on the uke. Neat, huh?

For better or worse, YouTube has the power to become the best cultural cache in history if lawyers didn't get involved and demand some stuff be taken down.

Funny stuff, sure, there's plenty of amazing "WTF is going on!?" stuff on YouTube (the mario kart parody is fucking win), but personally I take the music route. Watching or listening to recent or classic stuff that I wasn't alive to see is kinda magical. There's so much treasure on YouTube. I hope some of this stuff never gets taken down. I really do.

Check it...

Yes it's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" but it's sung by Sarah Vaughan, so fuckin respect, people!

The best song and dance number in Singing in the Rain, maybe in any old Hollywood musical.

Etta James, Gladys Knight and a high-as-a-kite Chaka Khan workin over "Ain't Nobody's Business" with some dude on guitar.

I don't give a shit if you don't like gospel music. I don't give a shit if you're an atheist like me. You can't listen to Mahalia Jackson and not feel something heavenly.

Green Day version was ok, too similar though. Lennon's is better. "Working Class Hero."

Big Lebowski fans will recognize this.

It's hard to find the original, full "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" with Duane on YouTube anymore, just the recent ABB regroupings. But here is a clip of most of Duane's solo work on the song.

Ray Charles. Jerry Lee Lewis. Fats Domino. Same stage.

Sure, it's easy to criticize the maudlin, showy, celebrities-as-talking-heads that was the "A Tribute to Heroes" special after 9/11, but Springsteen brings the chills.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faVTixv81IQ
Let's leave "Imagine" alone for a moment. Am I so barbaric for preferring Lennon's ragged, metallic yelp during this song?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DnUxLISFcA
Bill Withers. I DEFY you not to be in a good mood after watching/listening to this. DEFY.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipzR9bhei_o
Unfortunately, it's a computer that's playing the notes. However, this program gives you a ROUGH idea of how brilliant some of those stuffy old classical composers were.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3URLhMam-o
Again, "Imagine" is set aside. This is my favorite nBL (non-Beatles Lennon) song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQYDvQ1HH-E
Who doesn't like seeing an epileptic Joe Cocker seize his way through this blistering cover? It's like a magic trick if performed by Screamin' Jay Hawkins in one of Andy Warhol's daydreams.

Funk. FUNK.

haha yeah, I actually wasn't holding the camera, so that wasn't quite the framing I had in mind. The shake is due to the cameraman pressing the mute button since we didn't have access to any sound equipment or post production tools at this point. I don't have aspirations of directing or cine anyways... or acting for that matter haha.

If you haven't heard of The Books they are a band that incorporate collected audio collage into their music and during shows also have video collages to go along with each song. here is one of them:

I think The Books are one of the most creative and unique sounding bands around at the moment. If you like this you can check out an entire set they performed in Philly with the video collages included on youtube. I'll post one performance and encourage anyone interested to check out the rest. They also do a great Nick Drake cover.
