RLR doesn't have much depth to it, which led to the oh-so-glib critique that it's merely a film cut around MTV aesthetics, but its surface is admittedly, for me, a soft spot. It has so much energy in its editing, despite being about little. Tykwer's follow-up got a much stronger narrative.

Run Lola Run is great. Not only is it a ridiculously entertaining and supercool 80 minutes of non-stop heart-thumpery, it also has an ultimate message that is such a refreshing and positive coda for the MTV/Gen X set, I can't help but love it
