What is the fourth nominee for Best Picture? I'm just getting a red x.

Ezee E
02-14-2010, 05:06 AM
Tokyo Sonata.

Spinal
02-14-2010, 05:09 AM
Wow, so no Hurt Locker for Best Picture? Interesting.

Spinal

By the way, I love the three Best Picture nominations I've seen. So nicely done, Match Cut.

ledfloyd
02-14-2010, 05:33 AM
huh, i've seen all but five nominees (2012, star trek, district 9, avatar and princess and the frog) and i really have no desire to see any of those, so, my picks are sent.

MARTIN STARR!

Oofah, no Antichrist in Art Direction/Cinematography, match-cut?

Pretty good job on those big 9 categories, though

Oofah, no Antichrist in Art Direction/Cinematography, match-cut?

Yeah, I was curious about that glaring omission myself.

Can we get a larger picture for Diane Kruger?

Sam Rockwell/Nicolas Cage is by far the toughest pick for me.

Ezee E
02-14-2010, 10:13 AM
This was pretty fun to put together, as it seemed like some people were sure bets until a trend of votes near the end.

There were about 3-4 movies/people in the lead categories that were all one vote away from making the final ballot.

Sam Rockwell/Nicolas Cage is by far the toughest pick for me.
phoenix/cage/stuhlbarg was a tough pick for me

Sam Rockwell/Nicolas Cage is by far the toughest pick for me.

I'll probably watch Moon today, finally. But Bad Lieutenant is still listed at my theater as "Coming Sometime Eventually."

Wow. A Single Man got shut out? WTF?

Watashi
02-14-2010, 06:54 PM
Also, knowing Match Cut, I have a sneaking feeling that Avatar is not gonna win best special effects.

MARTIN STARR!

I was really tempted to vote for him but ultimately I had to go with Waltz.

Heh. Tokyo Sonata's only nomination is for Best Picture.

i didn't notice that, that's bizarre.

Kyôko Koizumi got a couple noms, at least, which was nice to see. But Teruyuki Kagawa was almost completely overlooked. I was dismayed to see the film get so many picture noms but remain absent from other categories. Y'all crazy.

And I don't care if he didn't make the final ballot, I'm still voting Paul Schneider for Supporting Actor.

Do we just pick one for each category or do we rank them?

I'm going to blame this on it being underseen. A few categories should have been locks for it.

I know you're gonna love it, so you might as well vote for everything it's nominated for. ;)

Yeah, the film practically came with a "For Spinal" title card.

Well, the Edith Scob snub hurts--as does every other category where Summer Hours should have scored a nomination.

Hey, at least that lineup wins us 'Most Heterosexual Forum'.

The nominations for Tilda Swinton and Michael Fassbender in other categories may prove otherwise, but, yeah--you silly freakin' heteros thinking with an organ other than your brain.

Boner said he won't be able to put together a lavish production for the winners. Anyone interested in helping "present" awards. I could spread out the categories to a good amount of people? Otherwise, I may just reveal the winners one at a time.

Boner M
02-28-2010, 10:28 AM
Yeah, a group presentation, like the one we did for 2007, would be fun.
