Looks like a fun movie with a memorable cast (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jason Patric, Idris Elba)

Reminds me a bit of Smokin' Aces, which is a very bad thing.

But I really like the cast, so you never know.

Despite the strong A-Team vibes, this movie could be big dumb fun. We'll see.

Hey, that looks surprisingly faithful to the comic, even down to the appearances of The Losers, but looks even more fun.

This > The A-Team.

I see this thread hasn't done much as of late, the movie has already bombed, and opinions on it probably aren't in the highest demand.

But I saw it, and it's pretty fun. The ending is a bit lame, but the cast works off each other really well and the action is good even when it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I'm not quite sure if Jason Patric is the best or worst thing in it, but I enjoyed watching him. The script feels very heavy on the "funny dialogue that can be seen as a pseudo-commentary on action movie conventions"-side, while going on to host many tired conventions. But it's harmless and for what it sets out to do, it mostly does it to the fullest.

I found it really similar to Berg and Vanderbilt's last collaboration, The Rundown, another movie I liked mainly for its cast, action and general breeziness. So if you've seen that and think a similar tone would sit well with what you gather from The Losers, then that's grounds for a recommendation! I'd say it's an alright rental, but it's also very likely to find itself a long life on cable televison at about 3pm during many afternoons of the future.

Chris Evans was the only reason to see this dreck.

What about the Elba?

My apologies, my coffee has yet to kick in. The Elba?

Idris Elba, the greatest current living actor, sans exaggeration?

I googled him, sorry, not familiar with him. He was fine, though his character was poorly written in the third act. The Comedian was fine too, the story just went super predictable and dumb in the second half. Jason Patric was horribly miscast, and had painfully unfunny dialogue.

This was fun. Evans looks so weird compared to how he looks now.

I enjoyed this, then I didn't. The characters, the jokes, the action are all good but maaaaan does it overstay its welcome.

The biggest problem is that a script that is new and fresh and plays well in comics is tired, old hat, and cliched on screen. The entire story line here seems like it was taken from one of those "adventure" novels with a gold leaf cover you could buy in supermarkets in the 1980s.

Also, did they run out of money? After so many exotic and interesting locations the last act of the film takes place at the Port of Los Angeles? A generic, ugly location where the actors run around shipping containers and warehouses for 30 minutes? Ugh.
