View Full Version : Krull Thread: You Are Invited
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v254/maragirl/krull1.jpg
NOTE UPDATED TIME!
Krull, one of the most awesomely bad fantasty films of the 80's (which I hope we can agree is the best decade for awesomely bad fantasy films) is due for a mocking re-watch. Unless you've never seen it, in which case you are in for a treat.
We will be watching simultaneously and posting comments in this thread. I'm hoping that posters will be self-motivated to join, but if you're not, sorry, it's mandatory.
There are a number of ways to watch online to participate, if for some reason you don't own the DVD.) You can watch it on Netflix Instant Watch, or on YouTube here. (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=6FF524668866C D0A&search_query=krull&rclk=pti) (Remember to click "Play All Videos" in the upper right hand corner so you don't have to search for the different component parts.)
I'm going to go ahead and assign a time, and we'll see who is available. If it absolutely works for nobody, I might change it. To give West Coast people time to get home from work, I'm thinking we can do it TONIGHT, 01/26/10 at 10 p.m. EST/9 p.m. Central/8 p.m. Mountain/7 p.m. PST. That will be the time to gather and get the stream synced up, then we can all press play at ten after the hour.
YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS.

I will be bringing popcorn to share.
Siskel and Ebert review the film in 1983. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1ItrMcD6mc)
They try to figure out the film's logic.

If you can tune in late, that's cool. It's not like the first half hour makes the rest of the film make sense.

Would an hour later be better for people? (That's a little late for me, but I can make an exception.)

It is almost identical to his Wrath of Khan score. I hadn't realized he used to rip himself off that early in his career.

Well, I know you're all (and by you're all, I mean Mara) going to hate me for this, but I have to drop out. My wife just reminded me that we're getting a new DVR when we move and thus we need to get all important shows off of said DVR before Saturday. So I have to watch Chuck, Castle, etc. instead of watching Krull tonight. My sincerest apologies. Have fun, sorry I have to miss out.

Okay, if you're watching online, you may want to pull up the film and start buffering. We'll be pressing play at 10:10 p.m. sharp. If anyone's having technical difficulties... well, I'm really bad at that stuff, but I bet someone can help you.
Uninteresting fact: Lysette Anthony, who plays The Girl in the Bad Wig, has only ever been in one other film I've seen... and it was much, much worse than this one. Horrifically bad. It's called The Lady and the Highwayman, and it also has Hugh Grant.
