English NSFW trailer. (http://www.universalpictures.nl/bioscoop/data/chloe/trailer.html)

Couldn't find another thread for this. Looks pretty standard. Seyfried nudity should be good, though.

It got good reviews at TIFF. Supposedly has a great hazy, glittering atmosphere. Lately it seems that trailers make every movie look bland.

I'm looking forward to it.

Trailer makes it look like 90s Michael Douglas should be in it.

I saw the French original, Nathalie..., a few nights ago. Yowza!

I'm somewhat surprised this is such a dead thread.

I suppose I can understand since Chloe doesn't exactly look like a winner, and it's not, but it's enjoyable for the Egoyan aficionado.

It's suitably sleazy--not as crassly lurid as Where the Truth Lies but not as accomplished as Adoration. I was on Egoyan's wavelength, but the problem with that is, if you understand Egoyan's preoccupations, the film is not mysterious. Everything lines up to his persuasive thesis on redirected desire, but its cerebral quality sort of demystifies its tension. There's questionable character motivations but, as an expert in the Egoyan School of Psychoanalysis, they're always transparent.

I'd love to see it, but I don't have the energy right now to drive 45 minutes. I also still haven't seen Adoration, which feels very wrong to me, so I'm more interested in rectifying that first.

This was in the theater in walking distance from me for only a week, and then gone.

Too many damn 3D theaters taking up space at this one. And for some reason The Blind Side and The Hurt Locker are playing there. And this is a new release theater. I don't understand it.

It's the first Egoyan film I didn't like. (Incidentally, the French original feels more like an Egoyan movie than this one, down to its use of a Leonard Cohen song.)

Atom Egoyan is in his usual form for the first half of the movie. You kind of have an idea of where the movie is going, but Egoyan surprises you as he usually does. His way of capturing atmosphere is something only a handful of directors have. But then it gets into the second half, and things just get boring when it focuses on the poorly drawn son. Ick. The lazily put together ending, and Seyfried's meh performance make it end up pretty bad.

Shame.
