I don't think we have one of these threads.

I can't wait 'til Ran is released on BluRay. That'll be incredible.

I'd love to get this at some point, too...

Have the reviews of that improved? Initially, they were dreadful. Not for the movies of course, but for the DVDs.

No idea.

I never knew about these bad reviews. I thought it was supposed to be a pretty solid set.

I think they pulled the box and redid it since all the DVDs were cropped, but since re-releasing them there are still a couple of them that have an incorrect AR. I'm not sure which ones.

Yeah, I think I'm remembering some scathing things from the DVD Beaver about AR.

Anyone else still regularly buy movies on physical media?

Netflix is cool and all, but the selection sucks balls and gets worse every month.

Downloading is lame.

BluRay is where it's at.

I still buy. All formats.

No. I don't buy any physical media.

But what I posted above I WOULD buy.

Do folks still buy movies? If so, just want to say that Predator 4k is out and the new transfer completely annihilates the previous DNR'ed to hell 2007 blu-ray according to early comments.

Nope. Not ready to jump to 4K. I buy everything digitally on Amazon building up a nice library on the cloud. Most of them I get for free with my Amazon points CC. I use it everywhere for 5x the dollar. Whole Foods, anything on Amazon.com, Gas stations, restaurants.

99% of the time I just rent stuff for $2-5 between Youtube and Amazon.

I do. Not 4k though. Been going the other way lately and collecting VHS.

Thats exactly it. About a year ago I watched a doc on shoutfactorytv.com called Adjust Your Tracking about these freaks who still collect VHS, and after the doc I became one of the freaks that hunts VHS. :) Its actually been really fun! I bought a top-loader for a couple bucks and its the coolest VCR I've ever owned. You should watch that doc regardless of what you think of the hobby, it was really cool and has some real weirdos in it.

Recently I was clued in to D-VHS or D-theater. So cool!
