So the following is what thefourthwall and I will have playing at our reception, in alphabetical format (her Ipod will automatically shuffle the list)... Those who are married, what'd you and your spouse fall back on as background music? Those who desire to be married, what would you want playing (kindly skip the obvious NIN "Closer" options, eh...)?

I'm guessing you're not planning on this as dance music. Most of those songs will go over about as well as a fart at a funeral. NOT your typical wedding music, that's for sure.

Yeah, neither of us feel like hitting the dance floor, so the reception is a quiet affair of dinner and conversation. Because of that, this music will be serving as background and won't really be trying to set a danceable beat. Serving that end, we selected music that we would like to hear. And to be fair, there's no damn chicken dance or any other obnoxious song. :P

My brother's fiancée wanted me to sing "Don't Stop Believin'" at their wedding last year.

It never happened, but I could take a trip down there and sing for you guys if you like.

Dressed as Batman.

But seriously, great list, and congratulations you two. :)

I momentarily considered pushing for an all Neil Diamond reception, but the look of horror on dd's face ended any hope I had.

I'm fairly sure that Bohemian Rhapsody will bring the highlight of the reception.

Yeah, I think I like this approach. I mean, a lack of obnoxious songs is always a plus. And there's nothing inherently wrong in prioritizing dinner and conversation over dance. Hope it all turns out well.
