THE RULES:
Predict on a scale of 0-10 (.5's are in use). Contest begins once I post the first score, which will be sometime in the next few days. And yes, there will be some *newer* movies I'll see in theaters.
Some of these are rewatches, but that doesn't concern you.
Anyone found editing their posts after I post the first score will be eliminated.

I'll give you rep and I'm sure if I beg enough, some other people would too.
Assuming a Match-Cut user wins. This is running at another forum too, combining them for more competition.

I need to re-see Le Cercle rouge, but have no particular desire to rewatch Flatliners. Similarly, I saw a half an hour of Orgazmo when I was fifteen, and even then I knew it wasn't funny. Most uncomfortable, cringe-inducing movie ever?

#1: 500 Days of Summer (Marc Webb, 2009)

Rating: 8.5
A delightfully pessimistic Searchlight-y flick that works because it breaks away from so many of those conventions. It's not a happy movie despite having so many "happy" scenes and aspects, and none of the characters are particularly "likable", which I can see lots of morons complaining about as it widens and makes a bunch of money. Levitt's performance is awesome while Zooey just plays Zooey again, and the thing is a bit rough in some corners, but on the whole, works a lot better than most of its kind.
jmovies at Filmgasm is the only one to get it on the money while mostly everyone was close. TAS overshot while Armin and Harry undershot.

Coen Brothers on cruise control, up to their usual tricks but still pretty brilliant nonetheless. I felt like I couldn't guess or predict a damn thing about what was coming next, which is always quite the good feeling and the end's little jab at the shallowness and terrible nature of "the golden age of cinema" is all fine and dandy, but the end still seemed a bit cheap.

Moon was definitely something great. Lots I could say but I'm not good with keeping things brief without using spoilers and definitely too lazy to say anything worthwhile. Go read the thread or see the damn movie, I'm just repeating what everyone else is saying anywho.
Bruno is with exception of a few scenes, funny but unsatisfying scripted slapstick, and doesn't really attempt the same stuff that made Borat so great. It treasures the flaws of Borat instead of building off its strengths, leading to it being a steep fall for Cohen.

Elle Fanning's great and the movie isn't afraid to take some risks, and while I'm pleasantly surprised at how good some of it is, the whole thing's just a flawfest of falling into traps that movies like this tend to drown in. It's nothing like the synopsis implies though, which is dandy.

Rating: 2.5
I still love Jonathon Sela's whole "LOOK AT ME WITH ONE TINT, IT MAKES THINGS ALWAYS LOOK BEAUTIFUL EVEN THOUGH THE SHOTS KIND OF SUCK" cinematography, but yeah, this was just hilarious.

I wish i knew what Powder Blue was before I predicted a rating. Such an awful movie. I didn't even bother with it after 20 minutes.

An 8 though? Jesus, man. That's quite the high rating for not knowing of a film's existence.
