I feel like I have to explain the Wages of Fear rating. While I agree that it's a great movie, the ending is far too drawn out and poorly made. The movie is also a bit reiterative and some scenes look like they were filmed for filler and to put the plot together.

There seems to a parallel between the simplicity of the story and the success of his work for me. Thus, the simple ghost story comes off most effectively.

It was unbelievably tense on first viewing, but I wonder how it'll hold up on rewatches.

But Diabolique isn't a ghost story. It's the story of a ridiculously elaborate practical joke.
