Don't know if anyone has seen this, I think it's quite interesting.

It's pretty neat. It seems like a great student film more then anything, but that opening shot and the last paragraph of the movie are probably what Hitchcock would do. I also liked that red flash when he was exposed.
The score makes it feel Hitchcock.
But in the end, it's definitely an experiment that looks like it's attempting Hitchcock more then anything.
Scorsese should have his own sitcom, it's funny watching him obsess over the pages.

Right...
It's obviously the intention, but the same can be said of many other student films that try to imitate Scorsese or Spike Lee, etc, when they could have probably taken a better approach on their own.
Hard to explain I guess.

That was a waste of seven minutes. Scorsese's funny in the fake documentary scenes, but the Hitchcock hommage is perversely stupid. The ruling assumption is that, given the task of directing a wine commercial, Hitchcock would self-consciously referrence as many of his own films as possible and score it to a medly of Bernard Herrmann music from different films.

Scorsese is making fun of himself and the attempt itself of trying to imitate Hitchcock. He's not trying to make a Hitchcock film the way Hitch would direct it. He's trying to make a film of him attempting and failing to make a film the way Hitch would direct it. It's entirely tongue in cheek, the whole thing. Now it's not particularly funny tongue in cheek (except the doc scenes) but no one can fault Scorsese for not pulling off a Hitch directed scene, because that's not what he's trying to do.
The music sounds Hitchcockian because it's straight out of his films.

Mildly amusing. I think I would have liked Kill Bill more if it had been in this format.

For reals. If you're thinking this is a genuine attempt by Scorsese to replicate Hitch, you're looking at it completely wrong. It's a lark. I thought it was pretty funny. I love Scorsese the Personality. He's so great. Anyone see his Amex commercial? It's cute:

Yeah, I posted it a while back in the Film Discussion thread but it got lost, I guess. It's hilarious. "Don't touch it!"

The scene where Scorsese discusses the found pages is so close to Spinal Tap that it borders on plagiarism.
