I'm not going to watch because I probably don't care, but is she directing this? If so, ha!

This movie has been finished for like 2 1/2 years.
It must really suck.

All Dark Castle productions suck hose water.

I liked House on Haunted Hill (until the last 5 minutes, that is) and 13 Ghosts well enough.

That's about what I felt too. House on Haunted Hill had great scare tactics. But the ending was almost the exact same as the Haunting remake...
Then what's the point of this thread?
It's whatever your mind wants it to be.

the voiceover is awful
i'm not very optimistic that this will do the source material justice

Isn't this suppose to be a superhero movie?

It's based on a comic book.
Not all comic books are about superheroes.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Kind of brought it on yourself there. :P
But yeah, not looking forward to this. I have yet to see anything that made me think much of Kate Beckinsale as an actress, and Domenic Sena in the director's chair doesn't inspire too much hope.

Kate Beckinsale is talented: Snow Angels, The Aviator, probabably some other things.

Haven't seen those.
Of her filmography I've seen the first two Underworld movies, Van Helsing, Pearl Harbor, Click and Vacancy.
So you can see why I don't jump at the sight of a new Beckinsale movie.

To be fair, the author of the comic really really loved the film.

Is being really, really hot a talent? At the very least, I think it's what she's best at.

I'm intrigued. I actually liked the voice over guy. Reminded me of 1950's educational films. :)

She was very good in Snow Angels and The Aviator and I also remember her being rather good in Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing though that was a long time ago. Supposedly she is terrific in Rod Lurie's new movie.
Really though, if we're talking beautiful actresses, I'd take her any day over the likes of Eva Mendes or Jessica Alba.

But the real question is would you take her over Megan Fox?

She's also very good in what she's given in Nothing But the Truth. Comparing her to her clone-attempt in the Underworld movies makes the first two watchable compared to the unbearable third.
She's also in The Last Days of Disco isn't she?
Definitely the most beautiful of actresses working today.

That trailer was something I would expect to see in the 90s or something.
Odd that WB gave a custom logo for it; they tend to only do that for movies they have confidence in.

I watched this last night because I had a Kate Beckinsale urge.
I feel like the trailer misled me to believe there was something paranormal going on, but rewatching it I guess I imagined it in my head. I’m a sucker for Cold/Snowscape movies. 30 Days of Night, Let The Right One In, Die Hard 2, and of course, the Thing. I feel like they are especially difficult to film, not because of the obvious cold issues but needing to cover up footsteps for reshoots. I don’t know where they filmed this, maybe it was entirely film
ed on a stage (there’s a ton of CGI snow) but the environments are somewhat believable.
They didn’t write any love stories into the script so the movie OPENS with Kate showering, so all that pent up sexual tension is immediately relived. (what a body!) Kate picks the worst scripts, I find it hard to believe she’s enjoying the Underworld series (and only doing them for her husband), but it’s hard to see what interested her in this. There’s nothing creative going on and the reveal of the motive at the end is totally deflating. I wasn’t expecting much but thought this might have been a near thriller. I was wrong.

I caught this way back when it was in the dollar theater. Awful. I don't remember much about it now...
