Can't find anymore information on this but wikipedia says it's getting a May 1st release (presumably in Japan). New Ghibli film by first time director but longtime collaborator Yoshiyuki Momose.

The source provided for that bit of info is nausicaa.net, which only mentions that Momose has finished working on a music video for an unnamed artist. I searched through the archives for other information but found none. By all accounts, the next Ghibli film will be Takahata's new project, followed by Goro's second feature.

A girl can dream! Plus Ponyo hasn't had an english release yet so I suppose it was too good to be true.

And for anyone curious (which is at least me, now, because of this thread), I just found out with some more searching that the music video Momose just finished (well, in February) is for Aragaki Yui's new single, "piece".

You can hear thirty seconds of it here:

Screens from the video:

Momose also illustrated a cover jacket for the CD:

And according to ghibliworld.com, Momose has previously directed three other music videos, for Capsule's singles, "Portable Airport", "Soratobu-toshikeikaku", and "Space Station No.9".

Wait a minute... You're not a girl... *narrows eyes*

I watched an amazing cam of Ponyo. The quality was shockingly excellent. Only issue being that a girl gets up during the film in front of the camera and returns. It's a very, very minor inconvenience. The subs were also fanmade, so they were flawed grammatically, but still wholly comprehensible. The film is very good, too.

Here's the video for Capsule's Space Station No.9:

And here's soratobu toshikeikaku:

And here's Portable Airport:

I guess this one goes first? It's obvious that soratobu toshikeikaku follows Space Station No.9, at any rate.

Yeah I've seen it as well but just saying that Ghibli usually only releases a new film every 2 years or so, and Ponyo still hasn't had an American release so it's not surprising that they're still working on their next.
