Wow, what a horrible week.

Why they had to mess with Kristin Scott Thomas's face, I will never know.

Ashes of Time Redux, you will be mine. Out of morbid curiosity, I may also have to check out Australia.

And uh, Scarlett Johansson gets a collection already?

Is there a market for that?

Or is the picking-it-up-for-its-ironic-value factor enough to expect sufficient rentals to turn a profit?

Unless you have a Blu-Ray player, save that comment for next week.

Hmmm. Netflix says it's available on regular DVDs starting on March 3rd.

I was going by what dissent said in the first post. Thanks for ruining my joke.

As someone who used to work at blockbuster and knows the movie-renting audience i can say with certainty if you try to find a copy of Ace Venture Jr. to rent there on tuesday night you will be out of luck.

Anthony Hopkins as The Hunchback intrigues me.

Also, I'll see Australia.

WTFs (and there's plenty this week):
Ace Ventura Jr. for existing

They must have changed it. When I first added to mine, it put the regular DVD on for the 10th. Anyway, edited.

I'm renting that and maybe Australia someday in the future.

So why is the Wonder Woman movie lumped in with "Television or Other"?

(It's a very good film).

Hmm... no one's interesting in this one?

The lineup of films is pretty outstanding:

"Here I Am" (Bruce Baillie)
"Aleph" (Wallace Berman)
"The Riddle of Lumen" (Stan Brakhage)
"Eyewash" (Robert Breer)
"Bridges-Go-Round" (Shirley Clarke)
"By Night with Torch and Spear" (Joseph Cornell)
"Peyote Queen" (Storm De Hirsch)
"(nostalgia)" (Hollis Frampton)
"Fog Line" (Larry Gottheim)
"Litlte Stabs at Happiness" (Ken Jacobs)
"Hamfat Asar" (Lawrence Jordan)
"I, an Actress (George Kuchar)
"New Improved Institutional Quality" (Owen Land)
"Necrology" (Standish Lawder)
"Note to Patti" (Saul Levine)
"The End" (Christopher Maclaine)
"Notes on the Circus" (Jonas Mekas)
"Go! Go! Go!" (Marie Menken)
"The Off-Handed Jape... and How to Pull It Off" (Robert Nelson & William T. Wiley)
"7362" (Pat O'Neill)
"Chumlum" (Ron Rice)
"Bad Burns" (Paul Sharits)
"Odds & Ends" (Jane Conger Belson Shimane)
"Film No. 3: Interwoven" (Chick Strand)
"Mario Banana (No. 1)" (Andy Warhol)

I've seen the Clarke and Rice films and both were great (esp. the latter). Plus there's 70 pages worth of program notes, along with an appreciation by Scorsese. $33 from Amazon, which ain't too bad.

This is good to hear.

The best I could say about any of the DC Animated movies so far would be "disappointing".

They haven't been on their A-game since Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (which is still so, so awesome).

I hope Netflix gets it. There are quite a few films on there I'd like to see, especially "The End."

Hm. I've seen the Kuchar short, which is available on YouTube, and it is magnificent (in my top 100 even). I may have to check this out at some point.

Anyone have any idea what this is?

"Mario Banana (No. 1)" (Andy Warhol)

I wonder if it is one of his "screen tests" where he'd have someone simply sit and look into the camera lens for the length of a film roll.
