For part of his promotional spiel for his new film, Adoration, as well as his general connection with my school, he'll be doing an in depth analysis of semiotic theory and its place within his filmography for my class, followed by a Q and A.
Does anyone here have any questions they'd like to ask him? I'll seriously do this.

That's awesome.
I'd be interested to hear him talk about the influence of Bresson's L'Argent (which he put in his top 10) on his filmmaking, particularly Exotica.

I'm sorry I don't have any questions for him (I'm not really well versed in his films), but good luck, and that's an awesome opportunity!

Sorry Derek, I ended up not asking your question as I felt it wasn't kosher what with the heady discussion the audience was engaging in with Egoyan regarding the film. Maybe next time I run into him though. ;)
As for Adoration, I thought it was tremendous. A fascinating look at the perversity of the internet, and how it can be used and manipulated as a tool for hatred and fear in this current era of uncertainty. It is probably Egoyan's most politically charged film. I'm very certain this will get particularly strong reactions, if that Q and A was anything to go by.

Adoration just needs to be released. Now.
The subject matter sounds a bit like a return to his earlier technology-wary days, and that's making my mouth water.

Actually, yes. Very much a return to his earlier films both thematically and perhaps formally, as well. He admitted as much during the discussion.
