I always laugh when I read that Krista Allen is in something.

She's like Kari Wuhrer - both of their existences rely solely on their chest-boulders.

I don't know any of those actresses, but you say it like it's a bad thing. :P

And the first three movies were fun. I'll catch this on dvd one day.

Both of them go topless in just about every movie I've ever seen them in.

Heck, one of the most "known" roles Krista Allen has had was as the big-breasted woman in the elevator with Jim Carrey in Liar Liar.

It's a pretty solid meh. They tried to recapture the intrigue of the first and the over-the-top kills of the second, and failed in both regards.

Well, FD2 was my favorite of the series.

Really? The deaths were a lot cooler and over the top like bacon said, but I like the first one the best.

The plane explosion was awesome. Also Seann Williams Scott kinda got a little annoying towards the end. And I like how they though Alex was responsible for all the deaths. That was neat.

I haven't seen the first one since the theater, though I have been meaning to.

Seeing the sequel in the theater was so memorable...I was NOT expecting that much gore...I had a fantastic time with that one.

The first one is clever and fun and a little more resonant than you may remember. It's one of the few dead teenager movies where the teenagers realize death is imminent, and they discuss it, and it has meaning to them. I think it's easily the best post-Scream slasher.

I just found that whole "masked killer taking out teenagers" sub-genre that blossomed after Scream to be really, really boring.

It's like someone decided to resurrect giallo filmmaking, but with none of the style, charm or innovative cinematography.

But this one has the charm in not having the masked killer, methinks. It's basically a flick that says "That's right, I act like all the others, but I'm gonna flip y'all by putting some sort of unseen fateful force behind the killing instead of a close friend or significant other of the lead! So there, 1990s! EAT IT!"

Doesn't make it good, really, but it makes it more fun than the normal slasher dreck, at least to me.

"Hi. No, I mean that. Hi."

Well i can see an argument for the first film as being very enjoyable and the over the top deaths and putting Candyman in the movie... and i can see the 2nd film sorta taking over the reigns... but i just watched the third film tonight and it was pretty bad. Like, how was that kid supposed to look up on the internet if something like that ever happened before? people seeing preminisions of people dieing and it coming true.. and then they talk about the pattern and crap... wicked lame and the deaths were too much over the top...

ps- candyman wasn't even in the third film... bs

Yeh but they immediately started talking about the "pattern" and how it skips someone and goes to the next person... something that seems like only the people in the first film would know about... and Ali Larter.

Complete agreement with your complaints, Duke. They found their formula for the series and just stamped out another cookie for part 3. Part of what makes the first one so fun is the characters figuring out the pattern. In part 3 they have the pattern figured out in three minutes, undermining any amount of fun they could have with the story. It's understandable that they wouldn't want to cover ground that's already been covered, but if that was the case, then they needed to bring something new to the series, instead of a tired by-the-numbers rehash.

I couldn't resist watching the trailer. Looks like they had a massive budget, doesn't it? There was one very brief moment in the trailer that makes me worry that they're going to seriously mess with the mythology, which almost always ruins a sequel for me.

Now, I could be wrong, because it's just a trailer, but ... when the lead guy is having his premonition, there's a brief glimpse of a screw unscrewing itself on the fence between him and the racetrack. Prior to this, the "things moving by themselves" never happened until Death or Fate or whatever was already looking to take the characters out ... not as a partial cause of the initial accident. It makes me wary.

We'll see, though. We'll see.

I walked out after the third (and most fucking retarded) death scene i've ever seen in a movie.

actually the only AWESOME thing about the movie, was the opening credits where they showed the death scenes of the people who died in the first three movies, only in an x-ray vision where you would only see their skeletons and the things that killed them.

Yeah, this was a huge disappointment. They spent too much time trying to integrate the 3-D into the death scenes. I was just bored. And the film felt like it was a half-hour long. Plus they rehashed a death scene from an earlier film. LAME. I hope they skip the 3-D for the inevitable next installment.
