Hot damn, I mean, how in the hell did I overlook all these underseen characters that nobody's ever heard of? Seriously.

Swallow your beverage before you click, okay?

Spun, I think you're misunderstanding the list. Of course this list has iconic characters. It is in response to characters left out of Empire's Top 100 Movie Characters.

If it left out Shaft and the Tramp, who did it include?! [/doesn't actually care]

From what I remember Ledger's Joker was #3. Now I loved the character too but come on.

Half of those I would consider some of the most iconic, mainstream characters of all time.

Seriously, Yahoo?

Empire Magazine recently put out their list of "The 100 Greatest Movie Characters," placing Tyler Durden from "Fight Club" at number one. Here's a slideshow of 25 other great characters we feel their list left out.

I flipped through that Empire list today in a copy I found at work. Empire is a pretty shitty magazine IMO.

Empire, the Australian version definitely is. The British version was excellent in the 90s, but I haven't read it in about 5 years or so.

Australian film is shitty in general, but Aussie Empire curiously even moreso than normal.

You're basing that NZ Film ranking solely on your opinion of Eagle vs Shark, aren't you?

I think if I were an editor of a magazine and it was going to feature a top 25 ____ list, I'd pepper it with choices guaranteed to raise heckles. And I'd put the most questionable choice of all at number 1. It's great publicity.

In other news, I see that you actually loved a couple movies. Did you happen to review those for your paper?

Yeah, I didn't pay any attention to that. The link that sent me to the slideshow didn't state it was a reaction to Empire's list, and I didn't scroll down far enough to see the paragraph. An honest mistake.
