The person I was with fell asleep, so I decided we should leave.
Some of the best naps I've ever had have been in movie theaters.

I've only ever fallen asleep in a theatre once, and it's because I was really ill at the time.
I wouldn't go to a movie when I'm tired enough to fall asleep. A complete waste of money.
I find that a film affects my consciousness more when I'm dozing than when I'm fully awake. I remember things more vividly, and those things that I do see are accentuated ten-fold. I think that if we can theorize dreamlike properties about the screen, dozing during a film should not only be understandable, it should be encouraged.

Weird. In a few movies where I doze, I remember scenes that were never even filmed.

Yeah. When I'm dozy, the movies I watch are 500% more likely to contain scenes of characters going grocery shopping and discussing what they're going to do after work.

There's three different versions of the DVD coming out. I don't know what has what though.

i liked it.
What does the ending scene with Stark mean? Iron Man Vs Hulk? What did Stark mean by saying "we"?

I really don't get the lukewarm-at-best reception this got on here, especially since Iron Man was pretty well liked.
I thought they were fairly similar in tone and execution. And the action scenes were great.

Average movie goers didn't like Ang Lee's Hulk, and I guess they have long memories.

Huh, the script for Iron Man is ten times better than the one for Incredible Hulk. Downey Jr. also beat Norton's ass in the acting department.
Favreau's film is a lot more compelling and creative in almost every way.

I thought it was quite the accomplishment that they made Hulk genuinely frightening.
I could understand why the military dudes didn't want him running around unchecked.

Yeah me neither, I enjoyed them both pretty much equally.

The Incredible Hulk = Iron Man = The Dark Knight = 55
Weird coincidence. They all have unique good points (IH = action scenes, IM = humor, DK = Ledger and ambiguity) and unique bad points (IH = weightless and trivial, IM = very dull exposition, DK = redundant themes and poor action scenes).
Hellboy 2 is better than all of them, of course.

So I watched Spiderman 2 the other day, and I think I figured out why I really disliked the action scenes in Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.
I believe that a key component in a dynamic superhero battle is a distinctive visual juxtaposition. You can have Spidey and Doc Ock stand still and it would still be a great picture, the acrobatic Spidey and the long-armed Doc. They have different fighting styles and they look great countering each other's moves. The entire rooftop-to-train fight sequence was just phenomenal because of this.
There's a reason why Batman vs Joker is such an iconic arch-rivalry. Visually they look awesome together, the black brooding cape and the colorful clown get-up. The Dark Knight was also smart enough to not have a silly hand-to-hand fight scene between them, and instead made the whole confrontation about psychology.
Then you have Iron Man fighting a bigger Iron Man, and Hulk fighting a different colored Hulk. Talk about boring. It's bad enough that the juxtaposition is pretty dull to look at, but the two fights were these two similar figures wailing on each other with the same arsenal. There's nothing memorable in them at all. That last 30 minutes of IH in Harlem, I was just waiting for the movie to be over.
The reason why Iron Man is much better than Hulk is because outside of the superhero scenes, Iron Man is a really fun witty comedy. Hulk, outside of the superhero scenes, is a Michael Douglas thriller.

Now, would Superman VS. Doomsday on the big screen be any different than the Hulk action scenes?
Nice discovery by the way. I agree fully, although haven't seen The Hulk just yet.

So by my estimation, when The Incredible Iron Knight comes out, it could very well be the best OR worst comic book book ever made??

The Incredible Hulk was.... ok. Definately like Iron Man better, and I like Hulk better.
However, Hulk v. Abomination was tits.

Watching it now, and no way is it close to being Iron Man.
The Iron Man cast is just much more interesting. Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, and Obi worked on their own very well. Here, I hardly know anything about Bruce Banner. Liv Tyler's character is obvious. Same goes with William Hurt.
We'll see how the rest goes.

Liv Tyler looks like she's stoned the entire time in this movie.

Yeah, nothing really changes for the rest of the movie. The action scenes are kinda cool, but nothing that stands out from the rest of the summer except the Hulk pummeling Abomination with chunks of a cop car.
I don't mind comic book movies, but why is it that the sequel has become better than the original now? Spider-Man, Batman, I'm sure Iron Man's sequel will be better. Is it because they have to introduce everyone? Quite possibly. I think Spider-Man's intro piece is the best of the bunch.
At least all of that will be out of the way for Avengers. But will Robert Downey, Ed Norton, and whoever Captain America is share time together?

I'm totally digging this idea of Hulk being the "villain" in the Avengers movie.

I'll definitely agree that it's nowhere near Iron Man, having watched Incredible Hulk again the other night.
But the action is really great, as are the effects. And as I said earlier, they made the Hulk scary.
I'd say the biggest flaw is one others have already mentioned - that nothing really moves forward by the end of the film. Banner is still on the run, he still has the Hulk to deal with, he still can't be with Betty, General Ross still wants to take him out...nothing's changed at all.

Great review, Grouchy.
I honestly didn't see the script trying to be intelligent at all, though. It was very straight forward, with much of the dialogue and plot taking us from point A to point B for the action sequences.
There were good scenes scattered here and there, like Hulk protecting Betty from the lighting, and even the stylish flashback showing Bruce turn to Hulk and hurt Betty.

I just finished watching this, and during the antidote scene I couldn't help thinking I've seen some version of this before. The bad guys are on their way, and Banner is all wussy and stuff.
Why must writers always take the super out of superhero movies? Yes, the world just would be an awful place without their protection. Yes, we need their existence so we don't destroy ourselves. Yes, some adversity outside of the main villains will add tension once, but the repetitiveness drains all tension out of these scenes. Who in their right mind thinks Superman is going to let General Zod and his cronies whip his ass and get away with it? Spider-Man super sticky web-slinging ways are really going to come to end? Bruce Wayne is really going to lay low, and let the baddies have their way with Gotham City? Etc. etc.

If they do the sequel, with Banner in a wooded area in British Columbia, there needs to be an appearance by the Wendigo in the beginning.
