While it's a project that'll probably never happen, it seems someone stirs the rumor pot every once in a while.

This time, it's Frank Miller himself.

He'd like Sylvestor Stallone for Batman. (http://www.cinematical.com/2008/09/08/frank-miller-fancies-stallone-as-broken-down-batman/)

I just don't like that the article says Stallone doesn't exude class or intelligence enough to be Wayne.

He's an intelligent guy. A very intelligent guy. He's a fantastic actor and writer.

He could pull it off, I think.

People have been pretty mean to Stallone, making him out to be some big bumbling moron when in fact he just has a speech impediment.

Ten years ago I would have said Clint Eastwood.

Will they let Stallone write too? He needs another couple of nominations to break the tie with Welles and Chaplin!

I remember when Clint Eastwood was rumoured with the idea a long, long time ago.

Sylvester Stallone is a fantastic actor? Are we talking about Rocky? I mean, that's all we're talking about here, right?

I remember him being pretty good in Copland.

Well..it'd at least be interesting.

Speaking of this, I remember hearing that if The Dark Knight Returns is made into a movie, he gave Zach Snyder the OK to direct it. That's fine by me.

Yuck to Zack Snyder.

Give it to David Fincher.

Rocky, First Blood, Cop Land, Rocky Balboa - all great performances.

He's been in a lot of crap Segal-worthy action movies because, as I said earlier, people thought he was an idiot due to his speech impediment.

Who he is as a person and how he comes across on screen are two different things. He may very well be intelligent, I don't know him well enough to say. But the fact is that his on-screen persona is that of a muscle-bound simpleton. That may not be fair, but that is indeed the niche he has carved out for himself and made money on. I don't think it's unfair to suggest that he would be an awkward fit for Bruce Wayne.

Well of course Fincher would be in my top three to direct anything, but I don't see him tounching this with a ten foot pole. That being that, I'm fine with Snyder doing. Could be worse.

I'll give you Copland, and having not seen Rambo, I'll have to concede that as well, but Sly puts on the same act in every film. Even Copland is really just a small tweak on Rocky. He has zero range. ZERO. So calling him a "fantastic actor" is a stretch. He's serviceable as the simpleton who overcomes great odds.

Sylvester Stallone - Batman
Jason Statham - Daredevil

All this proves is that Frank Miller has finally lost his marbles.

Selina Kyle as a prostitute was kinda the big ole Batsignal on that front...for me...

I agree with the writer of the article. Stallone may be intelligent in reality, but this doesn't mean he naturally exudes it. Some actors are not born to play a variety of different roles. I mean, Christopher Lee may be a loveable nice person, but his only memorable performances are as the villains because...well, he's creepy.

Just kidding. I love Demolition ManI liked Demolition Man, too.

Sly as Batman? No thanks. Clint would be cool but kind of a cliche choice, plus he's really, really old. Although I guess the part does call for a rather older version of Batman.

Now it's impossible, of course, but my ideal actor for the role some years ago would've been Paul Newman.

Good call, but I think he would have been better as Gordon in this film.

Believe it or not, I'd like to see Travolta tackle it. As an older, out-of-shape (but not too far from his Staying Alive physique), down-and-out superhero, I think he could pull it off, and certainly better than Stallone. Although I don't trust either of them to pull off a believable Batman voice.

It's pretty good, but not as great as season 5. Starts off great, but the second half is mostly build-up for season 7. Still good, though.

(I recently purchased seasons 1-5 for 69 euros, might marathon them along with 6 before I start the final season.)

Yeah same here with seasons 1~5. It was the greatest TV marathon I ever did.:)

Okay, back to Bats.
