We're going nihilistic.

We did it with Disney if I remember as well. Plus, these haven't been getting a good amount of results lately, hopefully something like this will pick things up.

You really think that a couple people out of what, 15 so far really makes a consensus? You think that a random grouping of people in the "real world" might not contain something similiar?

I guess I could say "I thought it was impossible to actually consider seven of their nine feature length films uber-masterpieces. Only motherfucking Watashi."

Winston's post is hilarious. Also Wats' behavior doesn't surprise me.

Also I can't remember all of the shorts I've seen from Pixar, or whatever the hell they are called. If I ever feel like looking them up, I will. But I'm really lazy. So I'll just cover the actual feature films (Cars and Wall-E will be viewed. One day.)

Toy Story(1995)-9.5
A Bug's Life(1998)-8.0
Toy Story 2(1999)-9.5
Monster's Inc.(2001)-8.5
Finding Nemo(2003)-9.5
The Incredibles(2004)-9.0
Gerri's Game-10.0

Funny enough the only film of theirs to receive a 10 is one of their shorts. Huh. I didn't realize that until now. Never really gave it much of a thought.

The biggest problem with Cars is that it is not funny. Not funny at all. And I think it's trying to be. For that reason, it stands out like a sore thumb against the other Pixar features.

I don't know, it's been a while since I've seen it, but in recollection I think of it as really plot-driven and gag-driven and it lags during, like, the arctic sequence, and other than its clever story about irresponsible business practices, I'm not really sure what to get from Sully and Bo's relationship, which is clearly the emotional center of the film.

No, my first post is my list of ratings. Those are correct.

And the "negative repping" and "berating people for not loving every Pixar film" were separate statements. Anyway, maybe you weren't berating, so I can change it to whining if you'd like. My point is that your fanboyishness makes me want to dislike Pixar films, even though I usually don't. Is that honestly the effect you want to have on people? Maybe it's only me as I tend to think fanboys are among the most annoying things related to movies.

I'm not a fanboy. If I was a fanboy, there would be a 10 next to Cars. I just happen to love most of their movies and praise their directors for finally injecting some creative edge into animation that has been dull for over a decade. If that makes me a fanboy, then I hope you continue to hate good films more and more because of some stranger on the internet who happens to enjoy his strong enthusiasm for the medium.

To me, a fanboy is somehow who cannot imagine, let alone accept a differing opinion about a certain film. Perhaps you're not this way about every Pixar film, but your posts in this thread suggest you are this way about many of them. And as I said, fanboy's never effect my enjoyment or appreciation of films, but they do make me not want to discuss them.

Anyway, I already edited my positive scores back in and repped you for the Scar pick, so let's move on.

Plus I don't automatically place a negative reaction when someone is a fanboy. Same goes for when someone is labeled a cinephile. They're just two different types of film fans and both comes with their pros and cons when discussing film.

Cinephile: "a devoted moviegoer, esp. one knowledgeable about the cinema."

There is no negative connotation to the word and most cinephiles I've come across love to discuss movies and are open to differing opinions. Most fanboys I've come across love to discuss the movies they love only with people who agree with them and close themselves off to anyone else.

Two of the top three features are Wall-E and The Incredibles. They have three things in common. They have the two strongest first acts in the Pixar line. They have the weakest, softest, most misguided second acts out of the Pixar features. They both recover from this problem to go out leaving a good taste in the mouth. Clearly, Presto is just riding Wall-E's coattails.

Yeah, it's decent but...eh. Not much in the way of imagination.

Haha. I saw that. I actually rewatched it in case I was missing something. It's alright. A cute fable, but hardly nothing worth getting defensive about

So who wants to put together a superhero movie consensus? It might be the only thing that would still get a lot of votes around here even if everyone complains about them.
