Done mathematically by a columnist on Yahoo!. It's an interesting system, and he's willing to tweak things at the suggestion of readers.

That's a very surprising #1.

Interesting.
I like 6 of those albums.
Cool #1 choice though - very cool.

I've heard 9 albums off of the list, and I've heard stuff from pretty much all of them listed. I thought his list was rather interesting, if a bit heavy on Zeppelin and the Beatles. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but no Bob Dylan at all? That's odd.

What do Grammys have to do with anything?

Yeah, seems that adding both sales and grammy awards to the total score seems redundant, as a Grammy Award historically has been awarded almost entirely (at least in the rock/pop genres) based on album sales.

I would also factor in the Kids Choice awards.

my screenname is well represented. as are the beatles.
but george michael? really?
songs in the key of life is great.
also, doesn't the RIAA give double albums twice the number of units sold? like to go platinum i think a double record only needs to sell 500,000. i can't remember where i read this. but that could skew the data.

What a terribly boring list.
The subjectivity is the exciting thing about these lists.
