Okay, the first disk of this two-CD release is pretty meh - middling prog-trance, that overly relies on the genre's cliches. A couple of songs are pretty good, but for the most part, we've heard everything on this CD done before and a lot better from the likes of Paul Oakenfold (who's not that great himself, IMO) & Hybrid (who set a pretty high standard, to the detriment of artists such as these), among others.

As for the second CD (all remixes), I haven't listened to it yet, and I'm not in any particular hurry to, either.

This CD, on the other-hand, was love at first listen. I listened to it three-times through on the first try. This album will definitely be added to my "Best Albums of 2007 That I Bought In 2008" list.

I had never even heard of "Does It Offend You, Yeah" I found them while searching itunes "Next Big Thing $5.99 and $6.99". Today I bought a used copy of Sonic Nurse by Sonic Youth and Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine, both in like-new condition, at FYE. I can't believe that place actually charges $20 for some CDs.

And I'm waiting to receive these two in the mail next week: Chelsea Girl and The Marble Index by Nico. I would have bought CG six years ago if I knew that Nico wasn't a member of the Velvet Underground (paying attention to the end credits of The Royal Tenenbaums would have helped). Why I took this long to buy the damn album I don't know.

This new Pressure Sounds release is pretty great. Prince Jazzbo and I-Roy as DJs at rival sound systems toasting a friendly, and hilarious, feud played out over Bunny Lee and Tubby's rhythms. Essential stuff if you're into it.

I don't have that specific release, but I do have seveal Radics/Scientist and Radics/Tubbby CD's and, since these are all reissues, I may have much if not all of Dub Explosion on some of these other releases. This is just an insane amount of material out there with probably as much, if not more, unreleased stuff hidden away in the vaults.

My favorite Scientist/Roots Radics collaboration is Dubbin' with Horns.

That's what I was greeted with when I tried to google my latest fabulous purchase (for only $12!!). It's on a whole other level of goodness.

People like me who need to check this out: D. Davis and bacon. You know you can't call your life complete until you are exposed to the unearthly delights of bamboo saxophones, photon clarinets, trigon incanters, and wiffle flutes.

It's more irresistible than it probably has any right to be. Needless to say, it's in heavy rotation.
